rooflite® Sustains Your Vegetated Roof

Green roofs have many benefits that contribute to the quality of the environment on a long-term basis. They help to prevent combined sewer overflows and mitigate the urban heat island effect. They improve air quality and re-establish nature into our urban environments.

But make no mistake – not all green roofs are the same!

The performance of any green roof system is highly dependent on the quality of the growing medium. rooflite® green roof media products have excellent water retention capacity to maximize storm water retention and evapo-transpiration. Perfectly balanced physical and chemical properties promote healthy plant growth on a long-term basis. Only healthy plants will meet your aesthetic and environmental goals.

If a growing media is of poor quality plants cannot thrive or may even die. Also, the use of inadequate media components may clog roof drains, contaminate the run-off water or create a fire hazard. High concentrations of organic matter, for example, will degrade over time and jeopardize the media’s functionality.

With all of this in mind it is critical to use a high quality growing media, which has been engineered and certified to optimize your eco-roof benefits. When considering your next green roof project, remember, the sustainability of your green roof system depends on rooflite®.

Availability Throughout North America

The use of regional materials is important to the USGBC in determining appropriate products for LEED certified building projects, and it is important to the bottom line of a project. With strategically located production location throughout North America, Mexico, and the Caribbean – you can be assured that freight costs will not be a burden for your budget. Most major metropolitan areas are less than 100 miles from a rooflite® production facility, with few projects being beyond 500 miles. The map below illustrates a 500 mile radius from each rooflite® production location.
