Landenberg, PA, March 24, 2020 – Skyland USA announced today that Scott Materials has joined its official blender network in Nashville, Tennessee, expanding its coverage in North America to over 20 regions. Scott Materials is a family-owned, specialty soil mix producer, manufacturer, blender and installer that covers markets from Chattanooga in the south to Southern Kentucky in the north.
As the premier provider of green roof media in the United States, rooflite regularly identifies regions in the country that are primed for growth in the green roof market. Nashville, one of the fastest growing cities in the country, is an area that looks to be ready to embrace the green roof trend. With a massive amount of growth in high-rise buildings in the downtown area, builder owners, residents and tenants are looking for more green amenities in this urban area.
As Scott Materials becomes an official blender, the greater Nashville area can now begin to use rooflite’s soil products for local green roof projects. Scott Materials, founded in 2000, is owned and managed day-to-day by the Scott family. The company started out as a landscape and irrigation company and has grown into a specialty soil company that does installations on large commercial and civic projects. In recent years, the company has seen a rapid increase in customers requesting a certified lightweight soil mix. As Scott Materials looked for a quality, lightweight product to offer, they came across rooflite and realized a partnership would set them up for critical growth.
Doug Sites, Vice President, Business Development at Scott Materials, says the company already works regularly on green roof projects and other projects that need engineered soil, and the partnership with rooflite provides a great way to expand into a growing market in Nashville. “We are so excited to be a part of the rooflite team and grow with them in the Nashville area,” said Sites. “Our new partnership with rooflite lets us provide high-quality, certified soil products, and we see the market as pretty explosive in terms of growth.”
In the past several years, rooflite has steadily expanded its official blender network with new blenders in Houston, Florida, Kansas City, and Melbourne, Australia. rooflite blenders are critical partners in ensuring both the quality and availability of its green roof media products for projects across the country. “We’ve been hoping to bring on a blender in Nashville for quite some time because it’s area of the country that is growing and looks ready to take advantage of all the benefits of green roofs,” said Joe DiNorscia, President of Skyland USA. “Scott Materials has a stellar reputation and an operation that can easily scale to the demands of a growing green roof market. We are delighted to partner with and support them as they begin selling and manufacturing our soil.”
Scott Materials joins a blender network of over 20 strategic locations in the Americas. Each blender location provides rooflite products that are regionally sourced, produced and shipped.
