Landenberg, PA, March 10, 2021 – Skyland USA today announced that it was recently approved to offer two new courses for landscape architects as part of ASLA’s continuing education program LACES.

Skyland USA is the creator of rooflite, the industry’s leading provider of green roof soil. With over 15 years of creating and enhancing green roof soil products and systems, the company is uniquely positioned to share its expertise, experience, and knowledge about green roof soil with landscape architects.

The two courses will focus on teaching landscape architects more about green soil systems.

Green Roof Soil Systems Simplified teaches how to spec a green roof soil system for several green roof types by analyzing the plant palette and weight limit. It also covers how to determine soil profile, depths and system build-ups to design an efficient long-term, successful soil system for a green roof.

Using Planters to Create a Dynamic Amenity Space for a Lasting Design teaches the fundamentals of planter soil systems. It includes details on the system build-up, the benefits, and how planters can enhance design and project goals. It also covers information on soil horizons, saturated weight classes, and specifications.

Each class provides 1 Professional Development Hour and meets the Health, Safety, and Welfare classification.

For Skyland USA, its participation in the LACES program is an important part of its mission to provide landscape architects with the best green roof soil and complementary offerings to create the projects they envision. “We love to have a part in helping landscape architects learn more about how green roof soil works and how it can help them create long-lasting green roofs that can transform a project,” said Joe DiNorscia, President of Skyland USA. “We look forward to sharing our knowledge and expertise with a new group of landscape architects.”

Skyland USA will offer the two classes on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from now on. Interested landscape architects can schedule a class by calling 610-268-0017 or by sending an email through the rooflite web site.
