The LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park was part of a $74 million restoration project by the Prospect Park Alliance to bring the 150-year-old park some new and year-round recreational activities, including ice skating, curling, roller skating, and biking. The project includes two green roofs that wrap around the building, which offer additional natural habitats within the park and insulate the building to reduce energy consumption. The extensive green roof features sedum, planted in our super lightweight extensive soil product, that integrates beautifully with the surrounding landscape and existing architecture. The intensive green roof features trees and a variety of plants, planted in one of our deep intensive soil systems, and walking pathways where visitors can explore the urban landscape.
