Mercy West Hospital

Mercy West Hospital, a new facility built in 2012, was at the forefront of a growing trend in healthcare – including a green roof to offer therapeutic and healing benefits for patients. The large 2.5 acre green roof, made with rooflite® soil, contains varying depths of soil, which was blown in by hoses from ground level. The green roof can be seen from two patient towers that rise above it and numerous patient rooms throughout the hospital, offering soothing and calm views. The facility also has another green roof area that has a physical therapy terrace, allowing patients to take advantage of the natural setting.
