Target Center Arena, home to the Minnesota Timberwolves, features a 2.5 acre retrofit green roof. With concerns about weight limits on the roof, rooflite® created a lightweight soil product tailored to the project that was delivered via train to the site. The green roof offers a host of benefits, including mitigating the urban heat island effect, providing a wildlife habitat, and reducing the impervious surface in its neighborhood. With the addition of the green roof, almost 1 million gallons of stormwater are captured on an annual basis.
